14K Yellow Gold Skull & Crossbones Coffin Watch Key / Watch Fob.
This is an antique watch key / watch fob. We believe its from a secret society or possibly a medical fraternity.
I wasn't able to find any information on this historical organization.
The Greek letters Pi Mu Chi is on the forehead of the Skull.
The skull has ruby eyes. Below the skull & crossbones is a black enamel coffin.
Inside the coffin is a Moon & Star symbol with a stone missing from the middle of the star.
The bail at the top swivels. On the back it has a engraving H. Nuckols 11-1-29.
Measurements: 1 1/2" long by 9/16" wide.
Weight: 3.9 grams
This pin has no gold stamped. Its been acid tested and will be
guaranteed as 14K gold
.
The top swivel bail & bottom watch key both stayed under the 14K acid but did go a little dark.
I believe they could be a lower karat possibly a 12K, the rest of the body tested as a true 14K gold.
This is an antique watch fob. It will be sold as is. There is a stone missing and some enamel damage on the coffin.
The design is a little worn down. Overall its in good used condition. See photos for more details.
