Contain 95% raw grain Abrasive at the point of attack as opposed to Abrasive nylon tools which contain 30% to 40%.
Resin bond Diamond crystals that have high friability.
A crystal with high friability creates self-sharpening edges.
Tools are listed by the Nominal diameter in which they are intended to be used & the actual Sizes are made larger to supply the proper cutting pressure.
If the end user Nominal bore is between standard Sizes, then the next larger tool should be chosen.
170/200 mesh coated equals approximately 180 grit.
800 mesh coated tools equals approximately 400 grit.
2500 mesh coated tools equals approximately 1000 grit.

Case Study:
Issue: A manufacturer of carbide wear rings was having difficulty achieving their required surface finish. Solution: In this instance, the Diamond Flex-Hone was used in progressively finer grits to create a near mirror finish lowering Ra from 0.7 to 0.05um.
